Dobre Therapy: Established 01/2026 & Inspired 01/2018

Dobre translates to “good” in Slavic languages and is the neuteral spelling of “ДОБРЕ” in Ukrainian Cyrillic. The inspiration for this mental health practice and its name hails from Ukraine and from the founder’s own extended bout of volunteering as a United States Returned Peace Corps Volunteer in the Ukrainian village of Zolotonosha, from September 2017 to March 2020, when she was evacuated with 48 hours’ notice due to the international pandemic COVID. The word “Dobre” was often used by the well-respected and appreciated Peace Corps Ukrainian Language and cultural trainers when addressing the American Peace Corps Volunteers of Group #52, as they would verbosely announce “DOBRE!” during the training sessions to confirm understanding of the instructions at the once Conference Hotel Irpin, in Irpin, Ukraine. We, the 70-plus American volunteers, would repeat “DOBRE!” in return to confirm understanding (even if some of us didn’t actually understand and chose to roll with it). The word holds a special place in the founder’s heart, as the Irpin community, Zolotonosha, and Ukraine continue to endure the ongoing war crimes and catastrophes of Russia’s war since the attempted Blitzkrieg in February 2021.
